Kirkland Lake

What was one of the worst wrecks in the history of the ONR happened February 22, 1965, three miles east of Kirkland
Lake, when the 1516 on a snow plow extra ran head on into the 1303 on a local. The 1516 was pushing a spreader and a snow plow. On impact, the spreader submarined under the plow. The spreader was so completely destroyed that the only evidence of it in the photo is the air reservoir, partially visible behind the 1516's number board. |
